Hiking in Hawaii – The Dead Man’s Catwalk

As humans we experience moments where suddenly all of our experiences, our feelings and our lives in general, pale in comparison to the grand scheme of things. When you’re faced with such overwhelming beauty, followed by a total sense of calmness, that you’re not quite sure that you’ve been doing with your life up until that point. Overlooking Hawaii on the top of the Dead Man’s Catwalk was my moment.

The Dead Man’s Catwalk is a funnily named hike in Kai, Hawaii, that puts you right in front of one of the world’s most beautiful views. It’s famous for its plank right at the edge of the cliff, hence the name Dead Man’s Catwalk.

Sea and sky as far as the eye can see, and you’re not quite sure where the sea ends and the sky begins. This is just one of the many gems that this island has to offer in terms of takes-your-breath-away kind of hikes, and no amount of VSCOcam-eqsue Instagram pictures could prepare you for the majestic nature most Hawaiians have right outside their doorstep. If you’re a nature enthusiast and wondering where to schedule your next trip, you’d be doing yourself a favour by booking a flight to Honolulu asap.

Out of all the places I’ve been and the experiences I’ve had in my life, this is one I’m dying to relive. Enjoy!
